The Birmingham Emmaus Community
About the Walk to Emmaus
The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The program’s approach seriously considers the model of Christ’s servanthood and encourages Christ’s disciples to act in ways appropriate to being “a servant of all.
We need your help!
A Birmingham Emmaus Community core value is to make the Walk to Emmaus affordable to as many people as possible. We have kept the fee charged to each pilgrim at $125, which is below the actual cost that we pay to the camp for the weekend.
In addition to the expense of four walks per year, the community pays for liability insurance, licensing fees, and fees to the Upper Room. To cover our 2020 budget, the board is asking each member in the community for financial support. If every member contributes $20, we can cover our 2020 operating costs. We know that some may not be able to give $20, while others are able to give more, so we ask that you please give as you are able.

We thank you for the dedication and service you have shown as part of the Birmingham Emmaus Community and look forward to another year of Christ’s love growing within and among us all.
